Help support those impacted by the 2023 Alberta wildfires

Support those impacted by the 2023 Alberta wildfires

About this Giving Opportunity

Due to hot and dry weather conditions, Alberta is battling a large number of wildfires, with wide-spread impact to communities.

On Saturday, May 8, a province-wide state of emergency was declared following more than 110 active wildfires. The fires have resulted in residents from various communities having to evacuate their homes.

We can support organizations who are assisting with the relief and emergency response efforts in the region. When you donate to this campaign, you are supporting the following organizations:

Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta: As a partner of the Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership (GPREP), Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta has mechanisms in place to accept monetary donations and disburse them to an affected community for the benefit of individuals and families.

Alberta Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA): The Alberta SPCA is responding to a request for help from the town of Drayton Valley and Brazeau Count to provide support for companion animals that were not able to be evacuated on May 4th.

Canadian Red Cross - 2023 Alberta Fires Appeal: Donations to the Canadian Red Cross will be used for immediate and ongoing relief, recovery and resilience efforts in response to fires, and community preparedness and risk reduction for future all-hazard disaster events within Alberta.
