This non-endowed fund was created in collaboration with the Fort McMurray Ukrainian Cultural Society (FMUCS) and WBCF along with other local partner agencies.
All funds raised directly support Ukrainian evacuees who are making their new home here in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo. As of June 20th, there are approximately 32 Ukrainians already here; 40 more are expected to arrive within the coming weeks.
Each of their needs are unique but most will need assistance with hotels and housing; childcare; jobs and career placements; education and training; English lessons; clothing and food needs; etc.
WBCF and FMUCS are working closely with local organizations to coordinate clear needs assessments and ensure that each family is supported with few to no gaps.
We are not accepting donations of clothing or other goods at this time. Please donate these to the local donation centres such as Salvation Army.
