The family of Rick George established this endowment fund in honour of Rick and to support Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
In the absence of Advice from the George Family (the Founders) the intents and purposes of the Fund are to enhance the quality of life of those living and/or working in the RMWB by supporting Qualified Donees that undertake charitable activities and/or programs to:
(a) empower youth through:
(i) providing educational opportunities at all educational levels; and/or
(ii) assisting individuals experiencing mental health conditions and support
families of individuals dealing with physical and/or mental health related
conditions; and/or
(iii) creating, enhancing and/or sustaining the ability of young people to
participate or otherwise experience the benefits of sport and/or recreation;
and/or
(b) build, sustain and/or otherwise encourage strong, engaged communities
including but not limited to programs for community development, equity, justice,
life skills development, social research and volunteerism, giving highest priority to
increased economic development and equality for women.
